The students would require to create a login account on the online student registration system before they can submit their applications.

• Go to the Institute website icmai.in 

• Click on Students Login link located in the top right corner. This will take you to the Online student registration system login page.

• If you are an existing student, select 1 - Create Login Account (Existing Students). If you are a new applicant select 2 - Create Login Account (New Applicants) If you have already created a login account, please login.
• 
• The students need to create their login account by providing a User ID and password.
• The email address of the students is verified with an OTP and becomes a User ID, and Password needs to be set during account creation process. 
•  Existing students are to provide their Identification Number / Registration Number and the OTP is sent to their registered email address. 
• New students provide their email address to receive the OTP.
• Incase of any problem in the registration process , go to HELPDESK option :
  

• Login through the Students portal , add the Registration number , DOB, security code.

FEES is to be paid ONLINE.

Candidates eligible for the above mentioned schemes can apply through Offline Mode by providing all supporting documents.

To be eligible for CMA Intermediate registration, candidates must fulfill one of the following criteria:

1. Academic Qualification:

• Passed the Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2) and the Foundation Course of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.

• Graduated in any discipline (other than Fine Arts).

• Passed the Foundation (Entry Level) Part I Examination of CAT of the Institute.

• Passed the Foundation (Entry Level) Part I Examination and Competency Level Part II Examination of CAT of the Institute.

2. Alternate Qualifications:

• Passed the Foundation of ICSI or Intermediate of ICMAI (by name) along with 10+2.

• Other qualifying examinations are listed in Annexure VI of the prospectus.

3. Provisional Admission:

• Candidates awaiting results can apply for provisional admission.

The CMA Intermediate registration process is open throughout the year. However, students must adhere to the following deadlines to appear for exams:

• For the June Term Examination: Apply before 31st January.

• For the December Term Examination: Apply before 31st July.

The cost of the prospectus is Rs. 250. The registration fee can be paid in two options:

• Option I: One-time payment of Rs. 23,100/-.

• Option II: Installment payments:

• First Installment: Rs. 12,000/- at the time of registration.

• Second Installment: Rs. 11,100/- payable before the term deadline.

Candidates must submit the following documents along with their application form:

1. Attested copy of Matriculation Certificate.

2. Attested copy of 10+2 Certificate or Marks Statement.

3. Attested copy of the graduation degree (if applicable).

4. Three passport-size photographs (one pasted on the application form, one pasted on the identity card, and one attached).

Note: A member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, ICAI, ICSI, a Gazetted Officer, or a college principal must do an attestation.

Students must submit their postal application forms, duly filled and accompanied by relevant documents, to the respective Regional Councils or Chapters.

In the CMA Inter curriculum, it's important to note that direct and indirect taxation were separate subjects in the old syllabus, while they are combined into one subject in the new syllabus.

When students embark on their revision process, they often approach it differently. Some opt to begin with the chapters they find easier, while others start with the foundational ones. However, our recommended ABC analysis for revision is based on the study pattern rather than the chapter's importance:

A - Start with PGBP, SALARY, DEDUCTIONS, and TDS (Tax Deducted at Source).

B - Move on to topics such as house property, advance tax, income from other sources, and set off carry forward.

C - Finally, cover subjects like clubbing of income, Return on Investment (ROI), and Residential status.

***Points to be noted while studying PGBP***

• To ensure efficient revision, students should set aside dedicated time for chapters such as PGBP and Salary, as these chapters frequently require more time and attention.

• During revision, students should establish columns, stating the pointers on what is allowed and what is not allowed under income tax regulations. This fundamental practice tremendously helps in correctly answering questions about these topics.

• Another important point for students is to discover and mark questions from their chapters during the classes, which will serve as fantastic practice questions. If students had not marked any such questions during the classes, go through the questions which stand out. Rather than attempting to answer every question during the revision period, students should pick a subset of questions and devote their attention to thoroughly understanding and answering them. This focused approach improves learning and expertise in those subjects. 

• • Practice rigorously and focus on understanding concepts first. Clear concepts make it easier to practice and solve problems quickly, even when faced with new questions in the exam.

  
  

  • Always attempt questions, even if they seem unfamiliar.

The new syllabus for the CMA Inter Cost Accounting Paper consists of two sections. The first section is the objective part, worth 24 marks.In the descriptive section, there are 7 questions, and students are required to answer 5 of them. Notably, there are no separate questions dedicated solely to theory. Here are the practical topics or trend which is covered in the exam and you should focus on, 1 question is covered from all these topics: 

• Material

• Employee

• Overhead

• Cost Accounting Standard

• Control or Reconciliation - alternate questions come, check the question paper to see which topic was covered in the last attempt.

• Cost Sheet

• JPBP or Process (alternating)

• Contract

• Operating

• Unit, Job, Batch

These are the key topics to prioritize for the practical section of the new syllabus CMA Inter Cost Accounting Paper.

***While we've observed this pattern in question papers, it's important to note that we don't advise our students to engage in selective or limited study based on this trend.***

Step 1: Make a list of summary notes.

Begin by making brief summary notes for each chapter. You can get help from marathon videos and study notes.

These notes should include key concepts and formulas to make it easy to review and recall information.

Step 2: Initial Problem Solving

Begin with answering practice questions roughly. At this level, don't stress about being perfect; the purpose is to become acquainted with the problem-solving process.

Concentrate on easier questions and go through them quickly to gain confidence.

Step 3: Solving Questions from the Previous Year and MTP

Dive into the prior year's questions and solve at least five previous year's question papers. Additionally, solve questions from the Mock Test Papers (MTP) to evaluate your preparation. This step enables you to evaluate your progress and improve your problem-solving abilities.

Following all three of these steps will allow you to cover the subject systematically, acquire confidence through initial question-solving, and refine your skills through practice with the previous year's questions and MTPs. This approach simplifies your preparation and ensures you're well-prepared for the exam. To Check your progress and identify areas of improvement, it's recommended that students take advantage of mock tests.
