Practical training is an important component of the CMA course, which is done to provide students with hands-on experience in real-world business environments. The training aims to:

• Familiarize students with the working environment of various organizations.

• Develop essential skills such as communication, time management, and handling pressure.

• Bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and its application in corporate decision-making.

• Instill professional discipline and ethical values required in the field of cost and management accounting.

Every student enrolled in the CMA course must undergo  a 15 - Month of full-time practical training in an organization recognized under Appendix A and Appendix B of the training guidelines.

The total duration to become a CMA is typically three years, during which students complete all three levels and practical training. The time required for each stage is as follows:

• CMA Foundation – 8 months

• CMA Intermediate – 10 months

• CMA Final – 18 months

The eligibility criteria for the CMA Foundation course are:

• Must have a high school or equivalent from a recognized board

• Must have a 10+2 certificate from a recognized board.

• Commerce Examination from Qualified National Diploma by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education.

• Diploma in Rural Service Examination under National Council for Higher Education.

• As per the ICMAI, there is no upper age limit to apply for the CMA course. However, the applicant must be 18 years or older.

The eligibility to register for the CMA Final exams is:

• Cleared CMA Intermediate Module 1 and 2.

• Completed the training for CMA Final.

2. Academic Requirement of Group 1 Subjects

Group 1 subjects form the conceptual base of CMA Intermediate. Based on long-standing teaching experience, the following requirements are generally observed:

• Each subject requires multiple study sources

• Classroom coaching must be supported by self-study, revision, and written practice

• On average, a minimum of 150 hours per subject is required for effective preparation

For students relying primarily on self-study, the required time usually increases. Reduced study hours often result in selective preparation, which may not be sufficient to handle exam-oriented questions designed to test the depth of understanding.

The results for CMA Inter & Final (December 2025 session) will include the following key details:

• Candidate's Name
• Roll Number
• Identification Number
• Marks Obtained in Each Paper
• Exam Status
• Total Marks

Candidates who appeared for the CMA Inter and CMA Final Dec 2025 exams can check their results online by following these steps:

1. Visit the official ICMAI website at icmai.in.
   
2. Click on the “Examination” tab in the menu.
3. Select the “Result” option.
4. Choose “CMA Inter / Final Exam Result.”
5. Enter your 11-digit registration number and click on “View Result.”
6. Your CMA Inter or Final result will be displayed on the screen.
7. Download and save the result for future reference.

To qualify for the CMA Inter and Final exams 2025, candidates must meet the minimum passing criteria set by ICMAI:

• Each group of CMA Inter and CMA Final consists of four papers, with each paper carrying 100 marks.
• Candidates must score at least 40% marks in each paper and secure a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the group.

Students who are not satisfied with their CMA Inter or Final result can apply for paper verification. The verification process is available online on the ICMAI website and must be completed within 30 days of result declaration.

Important Points to Remember for Verification:

• The verification is only for checking errors in total marks or omissions in answer evaluation.
• It is not a re-evaluation process; marks obtained after verification are final.
• The fee for paper verification is INR 250 per paper.
• If there is a change in the marks after verification, the fee for that specific paper will be refunded.
• If the candidate passes as a result of verification, both the verification fee and examination fee will be refunded.
